The Police Service Commission has affirmed its decision not to cancel the recently released list of successful candidates for recruitment into the constables’ cadre of the Nigeria Police Force. Ikechukwu Ani, the Head of Press and Public Relations at PSC, made this clear in a statement issued on Tuesday in Abuja.
Ani emphasized that the commission’s stance follows a misleading statement circulating on social media, alleging that PSC yielded to pressure and annulled the final list of successful candidates. He categorically stated, “The statement did not originate from PSC and should be disregarded by the public.”
Regarding the recruitment process, Ani assured that it was conducted in strict adherence to applicable guidelines and legal provisions. He noted that the commission recently completed routine maintenance on its portal, which hosts the list of successful candidates.
“The commission has successfully restored the recruitment portal to its original state,” Ani confirmed. He continued with resolve, “Successful candidates are advised to dismiss the deliberate attempts by certain groups intent on undermining the commission’s commendable efforts.” Ani reiterated the commission’s commitment to a transparent and inclusive recruitment process, emphasizing the principles of federal character, gender equity, and merit.
Ani cautioned against further attempts to disrupt the process, warning that stringent measures would be taken against those responsible. “The portal is now fully operational and accessible,” Ani announced, assuring candidates of seamless access to its features without any interruptions.
In conclusion, Ani urged those responsible for spreading misinformation to cease their efforts to undermine the recruitment exercise. He reaffirmed the commission’s dedication to upholding meritocracy and inclusivity in its operations, pledging to maintain the integrity of the recruitment process.
