The Kano State Government has taken decisive action regarding the residence of the 15th Emir of Kano, Aminu Ado Bayero, who had been quietly relocated by security forces to the Nasarawa Emirs’ cemetery on May 25, 2024. Following a press briefing, the State’s Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Haruna Isa Dederi, disclosed that the government has now directed the Commissioner of Police to vacate the deposed Emir from the premises.
This move comes in the wake of a recent ruling by the Federal High Court that upheld the legality of the Kano Emirate Council Repeal Law 2024, which precipitated these actions.
“The Kano State Government is proceeding with the removal of the deposed Emir from the Government premises where he currently resides unlawfully.
