The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC has announced the Notice of Polls for the Area Council elections in the Federal Capital Territory FCT, Abuja.
The elections are scheduled for February 21, 2026, and will commence at all polling units across the FCT.
In a statement released on Tuesday, INEC notified that only eligible voters with valid Permanent Voter Cards and whose names are listed on the voter register will be permitted to vote.
The commission also confirmed the use of the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System – BVAS for the electoral process. INEC reiterated that voters must ensure that they possess PVCs to participate in the election which will cover the six Area Councils in the Federal Capital Territory.
