Tragedy struck in the early hours of Wednesday in Abule Oke, Yewa North Local Government Area of Ogun State. A 28-year-old ex-convict, Adeniji Ibrahim, was brutally killed in front of his father’s house. The news of this unfortunate incident spread rapidly, leaving the community in shock and fear.

The incident was reported by Ibrahim’s father, Adeniji Kamorudeen, at the Imasayi Police Division. According to Vanguard, Kamorudeen explained that a group of people accused his son of stealing, which led to his untimely death.

“They said he stole something and killed him, Kamorudeen told the police, recounting the chilling details of the attack.

He mentioned that his son had recently been released from prison, where he had served time for a similar offense. Despite this, Kamorudeen expressed that he did not suspect anyone specific in connection with his son’s murder. “I don’t suspect anyone in particular,” he stated.

The news has sent ripples through the local community, raising concerns about security and the alarming rate of vigilante justice. Ibrahim’s past as an ex-convict only added a layer of complexity to the situation, as the community members grappled with the reality of the crime.
