Abuja is set to host one of its most anticipated events, AWG Fest 2024, with OdumoduBlack, a leading artist and the founder of the festival, emphasizing the power of youth unity and action.
Speaking at a press conference at the Transcorp Hilton Abuja, OdumoduBlack expressed deep appreciation for the unwavering support that has made AWG Fest possible.
“Your support means the world, not just to me, but to everyone involved in making AWG Fest a reality,” he said, recognizing the collective effort behind the event. He described AWG Fest as more than just a music festival—it’s a movement aimed at empowering young Nigerians and driving positive change.
OdumoduBlack outlined the festival’s mission as a unique blend of music, culture, and youth empowerment. AWG Fest will serve as a platform for young Nigerians to gather, share ideas, and collaborate on solutions for progress. The artist also commented on the government’s recent promise to hold a Youth Conference, intended to address the concerns of young people. “We’ve heard the talk, but the timeline hasn’t been set, and meanwhile, the issues we face aren’t on pause,” he pointed out. “If they can’t give us the platform, we’ll build our own.”
OdumoduBlack explained that this determination to create space for youth dialogue and collaboration is central to AWG Fest. The event aims to be a catalyst for change, encouraging attendees to transform frustration into action and challenges into opportunities. “When we come together, we have the chance to transform frustration into action, challenges into opportunities,” he stated.
