Social media influencer Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan, is scheduled to appear before the House of Representatives on Monday in light of serious bribery allegations leveled against the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
The situation unfolded after VeryDarkMan released an audio recording featuring popular crossdresser Idris Okuneye, widely recognized as Bobrisky. In this audio, Bobrisky purportedly confessed to bribing EFCC officials with a staggering N15 million to have a money laundering case against him dismissed. Such claims, if true, could have far-reaching implications for the EFCC, an agency that is supposed to uphold the law and combat financial crimes in Nigeria.
In the alleged audio recording, Bobrisky is also heard claiming that he never actually served the full duration of his six-month jail term at Kirikiri prison in Lagos. Instead, he asserted that his godfather facilitated arrangements for him to stay in a lodge rather than the prison. This revelation has raised eyebrows and fueled speculation about corruption and preferential treatment within the prison system. Many have questioned how a high-profile individual could bypass the consequences of a prison sentence through alleged connections.
The House of Representatives, in response to these serious allegations, has taken the matter into its own hands.
