Nigerian businessman and socialite, Obi Cubana, has endorsed a new reality TV show, ‘Next Naija Couple,’ which aims to redefine modern relationships by promoting authentic love and commitment rooted in African society.

The show, organized by Quadrangle Media Limited in collaboration with Cubana Group, was unveiled on Sunday at the EbonyLife Place in Victoria Island, Lagos. According to Obi Cubana, the show will feature 12 men and 12 women searching for love. It will air on PopCentral TV (DSTV channel 189) and AIT starting from October 6.

“Next Naija Couple” will also have a dedicated app for on-demand viewing, allowing audiences to catch up on episodes anytime. The launch event was a star-studded affair, attended by top entertainers, including AY, Chinedu Ikedizie aka Aki, and Charles Novia.

At the event, Obi Cubana spoke passionately about the importance of hard work, love, and faith in a strong marriage. He highlighted that even though marriages have been impacted by social media platforms, they can also be used to promote and uphold the core values of marriage. He stressed that “Next Naija Couple” would serve as a positive example of how social media and television can support and reinforce traditional African values in relationships.

The Managing Director of Quadrangle Media Limited, Iyke Obi, provided more insights into the show’s format. He noted that the show will feature participants between the ages of 15 and 35 who will enter the villa as boys and girls but come out as men and women. This transformative journey will be a central theme of the show, running for eight weeks and aimed at fostering true love amid the challenges of social media-driven relationships.

Viewers will have the opportunity to win wonderful prizes as the show airs. The winning couple will take home a huge sum of money among other goodies. This incentive aims to engage the audience actively, encouraging them to follow the journey of the participants and root for their favorite couples.

Applications for “Next Naija Couple” are open for six weeks, after which regional auditions will commence. This approach ensures that everyone has an opportunity to participate in the show, regardless of their location. The auditions will help identify individuals who are genuinely seeking love and are ready to share their journey with the audience.

The show’s organizers have emphasized that “Next Naija Couple” aims to celebrate the core values of Africa and tell stories from an African standpoint. By promoting a narrative about African relationships and marriages that is authentic and rooted in culture, the show seeks to challenge the often negative portrayals of African relationships in mainstream media.

The show’s emphasis on authenticity and cultural values sets it apart from other reality TV shows. It offers a fresh perspective on relationships, focusing on the journey of finding love in a way that resonates with African traditions and modern realities. By combining entertainment with meaningful content, “Next Naija Couple” aims to create a show that not only captivates viewers but also inspires them.

In conclusion, “Next Naija Couple” is more than just a reality TV show. It is a platform that seeks to redefine modern relationships by promoting authentic love and commitment rooted in African society.

With the backing of Obi Cubana and the collaboration of Quadrangle Media Limited and Cubana Group, the show is poised to make a significant impact. By showcasing the transformative journey of participants and celebrating African values, “Next Naija Couple” promises to be a groundbreaking show that resonates with audiences across the continent.
