A Federal High Court in Abuja has scheduled September 18 for its decision on a lawsuit aiming to oust Abdullahi Ganduje as the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
According to the plaintiffs, a group of dissatisfied party members from the North Central APC Forum,
Tinubu’s appointment violates the party’s rules and is illegal. They argue that the National Executive Committee (NEC) disregarded the party’s constitution by appointing Ganduje, who hails from Kano State in the North West region, instead of Senator Abdullahi Adamu from Nasarawa State in the North Central region.
“The plaintiffs are seeking a court declaration that Ganduje’s occupancy of the position is illegal. They also want the court to stop him from continuing to identify himself as the chairman. Furthermore, they request an order instructing INEC not to recognize any actions taken by the APC under Ganduje’s leadership.”
In response, the defendants, including Ganduje, the APC, and INEC, have asked the court to dismiss the lawsuit because they believe it lacks substance. The court’s ruling on September 18 will determine whether Ganduje can continue as the APC National Chairman.
