The Lagos State Police Command has officially confirmed the successful rescue of the abducted Fouani brothers along with two others. Benjamin Hundeyin, the spokesperson for the command, disclosed this development to reporters on Tuesday. The brothers—Abbas Fouani, Youssef Fouani, and Amtal Fouani—were abducted on June 14th around 6pm in Lagos and were subsequently rescued late last night in Orugbo Iddo by the marine police.

Fouani Nigeria Limited, known for its specialization in electronics and as the exclusive distributor of LG, Hisense, and Maxi products in Nigeria, employs the Fouani brothers in key roles within the company. The abduction occurred as they were returning from their factory via boat, a common mode of transportation in the region.

“Yes, five of them were rescued, including three Lebanese nationals, the boat captain, and his assistant,” confirmed Hundeyin, highlighting the swift and coordinated effort by the marine police in the rescue operation.

Further details are expected to emerge as the investigation progresses. The incident underscores ongoing security challenges in Lagos and the region, prompting heightened concerns among residents and stakeholders alike.
